Hey Reader,
You might be seeing people talk about the Year of the Horse and thinking, “Cool… but why should I care?”
Fair question. Let’s talk about it.
The Year of the Horse comes from the Chinese zodiac, where each year carries a certain energetic theme. The Horse is about:
🔥 Independence
💨 Momentum
🧭 Freedom
⚡ Bold forward movement
And listen… for neurodivergent women? That hits different.
Because so many of us have spent years feeling:
“Too much.”
“Too scattered.”
“Too emotional.”
“Too driven.”
“Too independent.”
The Horse doesn’t apologize for its energy. It doesn’t shrink itself to make other animals comfortable. It runs. It moves. It follows instinct.
And that’s the part that matters to us.
This year is an invitation to stop trying to tame yourself into something smaller.
If you have ADHD? You already know what momentum feels like when you’re lit up about something. If you live with bipolar disorder? You understand the power of harnessed energy. If you’re autistic? You know the strength of moving in alignment with your own rhythm instead of society’s expectations.
The Year of the Horse isn’t about chaos. It’s about direction.
It’s about choosing where you want to run instead of being dragged by old shame, old patterns, old conditioning.
For us — the women who’ve survived divorce, diagnosis, burnout, and being underestimated — this energy feels like permission.
Permission to:
Take up space.
Trust your instincts.
Move when it feels right.
Stop waiting for someone else to approve your path.
And here’s the real talk: Momentum doesn’t require perfection. It requires movement.
Even tiny movement counts.
Even messy movement counts.
Even “I’m scared but I’m doing it anyway” counts.
This year, instead of asking, “What’s wrong with me?” Maybe we ask, “Where am I meant to run?”
You don’t have to sprint. But you do get to move.
And I, as always, am running beside you.
Let’s keep advancing. Together.
Love Always, Amy Your Mental Health Warrior & Neurodivergent Advocate 💚
