Okay, I'm going to admit something a little unpopular… ☁️

Hey Warrior,
Can I tell you something that might make you look at me sideways?
I LOVE a dark, rainy, stormy day.
Like… genuinely, deeply, full-heart love it.
Today is one of those days here, and honestly? I am in my element. The sky is that perfect shade of moody gray, the rain is coming down in sheets, and every few minutes — BOOM — the thunder rolls through like it owns the place.
I know, I know. Most people I talk to absolutely hate this kind of weather. And I get it! Flooded basements, ruined plans, frizzy hair, traffic… it's a lot. And I'll be honest — I do feel a tiny twinge of guilt for loving it so much when I know some people are out there dealing with real headaches because of it. 💛
But here's the truth: stormy days make me feel at home.
There's something about the sound of rain hitting the windows and the big, dramatic booms of thunder that just… settles something in me. It's like the whole world slows down and gets cozy. Like God decided to put on a free concert for anyone willing to stop and listen.
And today? I stopped and listened. And it was beautiful.
So that got me thinking about joy.
Real, personal, "this might be weird but I don't care" joy.
The kind that's not Instagram-perfect or socially approved. The kind that just is — because it lights something up inside you.
Joy matters more than we give it credit for, especially for those of us navigating mental health challenges and neurodivergence. It's not fluff. It's not a luxury. Joy is actually medicine for our nervous systems. It reduces stress, lifts our mood, and gives us little anchors to hold onto on the harder days.
When everything feels heavy and overwhelming, joy is what reminds us — this life has good in it. I have good in it.
And it doesn't have to be big. It doesn't have to make sense to anyone else.
For me today? It was a stormy sky and a cup of something warm. That's it. That was enough.
So here's my question for you today:
👉 What brings YOU joy?
Maybe it's something others don't understand. Maybe it's something small that you've been dismissing as "not a big deal." Maybe you haven't thought about it in a while because life has just been… a lot.
That's okay. Let's think about it right now, together.
And then — just one ask:
Can you find ONE joyful moment today?
Not a whole joyful day. Not a full life overhaul. Just one moment. One tiny thing that makes your soul go "yes, this."
Put on the song. Make the tea. Sit by the window in the rain. Call the person who makes you laugh. Doodle in your journal. Let yourself have it — without guilt, without rushing, without explaining yourself to anyone.
You deserve joy, friend. Not someday. Today.
Hit reply and tell me — what's your version of a stormy day? What's that one weird or simple thing that fills your cup? I genuinely want to know. 🌧️☕
Love Always,
Amy
